Laos PDR (people's democratic republic),

Laos (pronounced Lao) shares its borders with Thailand, China, Vietnam, Myanmar and Cambodia.

The currency is 'Kip' and the current exchange rates (feb 07) are approximately 26000 to 27500 Kip to 100 Baht or 9750 Kip to $1USD.

The Capital is Vientiane, but Luang Phrabang is far more interesting.
